Current Area Forecast Discussion (AFD)

Our weather information is an automated upload from our Davis Vantage Pro2(tm) weather station.   The wireless instruments are mounted on a 32 foot weather mast beside John's office in Olympia, California - instruments at about 18 feet and anemometer at the standard 32 foot level.   Our location in the Zayante Creek valley is very wind-shielded, therefore it is unusual that we receive wind gusts over 30 mph.  Thank goodness because we're also surrounded by 200 foot tall redwood trees!   The Vantage Pro2 is connected to a PC running Davis' Weatherlink(tm) software - which generates a snapshot of the weather every few seconds.   The PC uploads the weather conditions to the website every 15 minutes, and the monthly and yearly summaries every four hours.   Updates are 24x7.
